2023 Division 2A Girls XC Preview
The MIAA realignments have brought significant changes to the Divisions here in Massachusetts. Division 2A has undergone a complete transformation, with some powerhouse programs moving to 2B, including Wakefield, Burlington, Danvers, Amherst Pelham, Nashoba, Northampton, and Melrose. In the midst of these changes, the Brockton Boxers 🥊 are poised to make their mark, with a rich pedigree and a storied history. Coach Canavan is tirelessly working to reestablish the 508 as a premier program. 💪🏆
Meanwhile, the Walpole Rebels have moved out of 1C, leaving behind a coaching staff and a winning culture that made them formidable. Marblehead remains an active contender, and with the departure of nine top returners, Division 2A offers the opportunity for new individual and team champions to emerge. 🏃♀️🏆
I've taken my time with these previews, aiming to be as objective as possible, given my role as a coach in 2A. In just 71 days, our questions will be answered. The Class of 2026, starting with Marblehead's Marri O'Connell and Westwood's Tea Pagnotti, promises to be in contention for the individual title. Caroline White, a senior from Walpole Rebel, is determined to position her team for another championship. Senior Noel Tripp from Whittier Regional knows that it's not the size of the school but the heart of the champion that matters. Maggie Joyce, another representative from the Class of 2026, hailing from Minnechaug Regional, is part of something special. And will the duo from Whitman Hanson, Sky Bucci-Anderson, and Mckenna McCarthy, lead the Panthers to a top 5 team finish? One thing is certain; Coach Jen Teahan will have the ladies from the TVL primed to punch their ticket. 🎟️
I promise you this: on November 11th, 2023, I will deliver my greatest coaching performance. We'll see you on the course. #Year9AdversityBecomesDestiny 🏃♀️🏅
